Billy Gruber
Emcee
I've had a passion for music since I was a child. I picked up a pair of drumsticks for the school band program and never looked back (thanks Nick Cannon).
After studying World Music at BGSU, I have spent the last decade participating in original music groups in the Dayton and Toledo areas, as well as picking up various gigs as a percussionist across the Midwest.
In addition to playing live music, I do creative concert lighting for other regional acts as "The Synæsthetic Oil Spill", or "SOS Lightshow", keeping a tradition of analog liquid projections reminiscent of the “classic rock” era. Outside of performing and creating, I am an avid consumer of the arts. Whether it’s spending a day at the movie theater, exploring a gallery for the latest exhibit, or getting together with the homies for a riveting night of wrasslin!
Legacy Event Group has given me a place to continue working in the entertainment industry while sharpening my skills. I've had the opportunity and pleasure of officiating friends and family members’ weddings which left me eager for more involvement. Emceeing with Legacy is an exciting mix of event management, crowd engagement, and creative problem solving. Working in the realm of corporate A/V, I've been pushed to grow on the technical side of an industry, where I’ve always been more connected to the performance side. Overall, I’ve had an incredible time being part of the Legacy Event Group and building further relationships in the community. I can’t wait to help bring your special day to life!
